Carol Harvey Steski (she/her) grew up in Treaty 1 Territory (Winnipeg), Canada. Her poems have been published in the poetry anthology Another Dysfunctional Cancer Poem Anthology and literary magazines including The Temz Review, CAROUSEL, FreeFall, Room, untethered, Prairie Fire and Contemporary Verse 2. Her poem “Curmudgeon” won the 2019 FreeFall annual contest judged by Gary Barwin, and was nominated for The Pushcart Prize. Her poem “praise” was featured in Winnipeg Transit’s Poetry in Motion initiative.

As a young-adult survivor of melanoma she has been a guest on CBC Radio-Manitoba speaking about the therapeutic benefits of writing through disease.

A settler, Carol lives in Tkaronto (Toronto) with her husband and daughter and works in corporate communications. rump + flank is her debut poetry collection and is a part of the NeWest Press Crow Said Poetry series.

She is a member of the Writers Union of Canada, the League of Canadian Poets and the International Association of Business Communicators.
